French doors upstairs - open wide

We'll really enjoy opening up the room to the outdoors during nice weather. Today wasn't bad for January 1.

Lower deck

The big plant is our new giant bird of paradise which we got to give the bedroom more privacy and to continue the tropical look.

Now the hot tub is just steps away.

Shower with orchid

We designed our master bath to remind us of our favorite beach in Hawaii - Waialea Bay on the Big Island. It has black lava, white sand, and turquoise water. We are using those colors in the bathroom. The shower is black porcelain tiles that remind us of the black lava.

Most of these plants are cacti or succulents, so they don't need frequent watering. Which is good, because we have to bring in a ladder to water them! We're shopping for a handy ladder which folds up and doesn't take a lot of room.
